How did the Triassic get its name? What actually is karst? And what do corals look like close up? Of course, you could google the answers but it’s much more exciting to tackle the ‘Triassic Trail’ with its many stations and vantage points and all the tricky puzzles and giant prehistoric reef. An exciting circular hiking trail for the whole family (approx. 4 km, 210 metres of difference in elevation) with a lot to learn about the amazing world of dinosaurs. But that’s not all: the ‘Mini Sea’ is home to the 30m long dino tube slide, just waiting to be discovered. And there are plenty of treasures buried at the ‘Triassic Beach’ – the highest altitude sandy beach in the Alps. The low ropes course with its obstacle course is a source of endless fun and the 70m high coral-shaped viewing platform offers pure goose bumps!
What to do when it rains? Simple: head to the ‘Triassic Center’ and learn all about the ABC of geology. The latest multi-media technology and life-sized dinosaurs transform complex facts into easy-to-digest information bites – whatever the weather. The latest attraction is a dripstone cave which leads visitors into the depths of prehistory. By the way: die-hard dinosaur fans can even celebrate their dinosaur birthday party here!
