Steinplatte Waidring mountain railway and Triassic Park leisure park

On the Triassic Trail, the hiking trail around the summit of the Steinplatte, visitors not only discover life-size dinosaurs but also fossilised corals and ammonites in "Fischer's Coral Garden". The Triassic Beach with its water features and Kneipp facilities is the perfect place to cool off. Did you know that you can also use a hammer and chisel to "free" fossils from their stone casing or dig out a dinosaur skeleton?
Another highlight is the augmented reality puzzle rally, where dinosaurs come to life via smartphone. Even in bad weather, there is plenty to explore from the Triassic Centre with its explorer camp to the stalactite cave.

Through creativity and movement, the children in our kids’ club actively immerse themselves in their exploration mission, engaging all their senses. Prehistoric times are not just explained, but experienced – outdoors in nature, far away from screens and everyday life.

Another highlight is the Panorama shell, an accessible relaxation area made of larch wood with spectacular views of the Tyrolean mountains. Here, relaxation meets the experience of nature. New this summer: the ‘Fit with a View’ activity programme, featuring regular yoga and fitness sessions right on the Shell. Exercise, mindfulness and the enjoyment of nature merge here into a holistic experience.

And if parents want to relax a little, there is a varied children's entertainment programme on offer. The Triassic Park combines knowledge, adventure, nature and interactive experiences. In addition to prehistoric finds, there are also outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and biking in the beautiful 3 countries corner. So hop on the gondola and head back to prehistoric times - on an unforgettable journey into the past!

The excellent Steinplatte-Waidring summer mountain railway is located in the Tyrol-Salzburg-Bavaria border triangle and is easily accessible from both Austria and Germany: On the Austrian side, the gondola lift takes you up from Waidring - on the German side, you take the toll road from Seegatterl/Reit im Winkl to the top, right into the heart of the Steinplatte-Winklmoosalm summer fun, which is blessed by nature with a fantastic location on a sunny plateau.

Once all the dinosaurs have been discovered, all the treasures found and all the dinosaur facts learnt, the Steinplatte Waidring with its incomparable and varied hiking trails, climbing routes and mountain bike routes offers more than enough incentive to spend even more time in the 3-country region of Tyrol-Salzburg-Bavaria. The marvellous natural panorama invites you to linger. Some - like the dinosaurs - for millions of years. But they all come back, to the Steinplatte in Waidring in the Pillerseetal valley in the Kitzbühel Alps.
