All cycle routes at a glance
- HEUTAL LOOP | Winklmoosalm – Unken (approx. 4 hours, 38 kilometres & 271 metres of elevation gain): The cycle route starts from the gondola lift’s mountain station and heads towards Möseralm. The road is well-maintained and you can expect a leisurely ride. From Möseralm, follow the signposts for the “Heutal” mountain bike route, which leads along the 17-kilometre forest track to Unken. A lovely cycle path along the Saalach to Lofer and over the Strub Pass back to the starting point at the valley station of the gondola lift in Waidring. Here is the digital map
- REIT IM WINKL LOOP | Möseralm – Reit im Winkl (approx. 4 h 30 mins, 45 kilometres & 253 metres of ascent): A leisurely cycle ride along wide, easy forest tracks. The first section leads via the Kammerköralm down to the Möseralm and on for a good 4 km towards Unken. Turn left at the Tanzanger junction and cycle for approx. 2 km to the Winklmoosalm. The route continues along a mountain road to Reit im Winkl, from where you return via Erpfendorf to the valley station of the gondola lift in Waidring. Click here for the digital map
- LOFERER ALM CIRCUIT | Möseralm – Lofer (approx. 3 hours 30 minutes, 29 kilometres & 500 metres of elevation gain): For slightly more experienced cyclists, we recommend the cycle route to the Loferer Alm. The route passes the Bäreckbahn valley station on the way up to the Schwarzenberg and winds through beautiful, unspoilt forests. It then continues steadily uphill for 2 km. Along the way, you can take in the panoramic views and catch your breath before really enjoying the 9-kilometre descent along a wide mountain road all the way to Lofer. The cycle path over the Strub Pass then takes you back to Waidring at a leisurely pace. Here is the digital map
